In case you don’t live in Australia, this past week Queensland has been pounded by Cyclone Debbie (I think in the US they are called hurricanes).
I live more than 1000 kilometres from where Cyclone Debbie made landfall, on the tropical north coast near Bowen. As I watched the news on TV, it seemed hard to believe the weather was so bad up north, as I looked out the window at blues skies and sunshine.
It seemed a very long way away from my little neck of the woods.
And yet, within 48 hours, EX Tropical Cyclone Debbie was on my own doorstep and delivering heavy rain, high wind and flooding. It was so bad, that school was cancelled for two days. I don’t think that’s EVER happened before!
Even though I knew it was bad up north, I had no idea that it would hit so hard here in south east Queensland.
I’m sure I wasn’t the only one surprised by the cyclone.
Were you as shocked as I was when it played havoc with our weather here in Brisbane, and down to New South Wales?!
About 3 years ago I was given somebody’s old air fryer.
Much to my surprise, I fell in love with it!
I love “frying” food with only a tiny smidgen of oil. So much better for me! My favourites are chips (they taste like real chips again, not like the yukky oven fries); zucchini slices, and corn on the cob. Mmmmmmm!
I thought it would be another useless bit of junk to clutter up my kitchen, but now I actually can’t live without it.
Except, I *am* living without it 😦 .
You see, after three years of hard labour, my air fryer has literally fallen apart.
Various bits of plastic tabs etc have broken off over the past few months, to the point that now the ring around the edge (which holds the food in while cooking) doesn’t do its job anymore.
So, I need a new air fryer.
At least I know what to look for now when I buy a new one – something that is made of sturdier stuff instead of crappy little plastic bits.
A decent air fryer will likely set me back a couple of hundred dollars, so I am nervous about getting the purchase RIGHT.
Can anybody recommend a decent brand of air fryer?
(See what I did there?! LOL)
I always wanted a blog of my own, so here I am.
Lying in bed last night I had all these amazing ideas of what I could blog about and all the stories I could tell. I literally couldn’t sleep with excitement!
Of course now I’m sitting here at my computer with my brand new blog, my mind has gone blank!
Don’t you just hate that 😉 .
